Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs
Daði Már Kristófersson has served as Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs since 21 December 2024.
He was born on 22 October 1971. His wife is Ásta Hlín Ólafsdóttir, a midwife, and they have four children.
Daði holds a PhD in economics from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and an MS degree in environmental and resource economics from the same university.
Daði worked as a specialist at the Institute of Economic Studies at the University of Iceland from 2007. In 2009 he was appointed lecturer and later associate professor in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Iceland. In 2016 he was appointed professor of economics at the same institution. He also served as Dean of the School of Social Sciences from 2013 to 2020.
Daði Már is the vice-chair of Viðreisn, a position to which he was elected in 2020. He served as an alternate MP for Viðreisn during the 2021–2024 parliamentary term.
